New tools and methodologies

In the period between 2011 and 2015 the 1325 community in the Netherlands forged partnerships that would explore methodologies and develop tools in various countries to strengthen women's participation in peace building. Country groups were formed to discuss best approaches in Sudan (including South Sudan in the beginning), Afghanistan, Burundi, Colombia, Congo and Great Lakes, Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The Ministry created a channel for financing small initiatives and larger interventions form consortia of experienced Netherlands NGO’s in international cooperation. They financed the Dutch Gender Platform WO=MEN to organize meetings and events for the community of the NAP 1325 partners.
